14months later, Mankhurd Mhada lottery winners yet to get possession

On May 18 last year, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) announced the lottery winners of over 3,800 flats. However, Mankhurd Mhada lottery winners yet to get possession of their flats.
When contacted to Mhada senior officials said “this is happening due to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has withheld the Occupation Certificates (OCs) and in the absence OC there will be no water supply to these buildings.” And in Mankhurd there is big issue of sanitation so due to these reason we haven’t provided possession to Mankhurd but recently we have handed over the possession to Malvani area, officer said. But in the upcoming three months we will provide them possessions, he added.
