Car Parking is leading towards social unrest

With 1.8 million out of 6 million registered vechicles in Delhi are cars. And 1097 vechicles added to these numbers. Delhi requires 43.26 sq. kms parking space required for 1.8 million cars.

These are the facts for increasing number of fatal fights between car owners for parking spaces. Since road side parking is now a punishable offense and police are charging panalties, car parking have become severe problem. Charges for separate car parking space have gone up and are ranging betwwen Rs.2 lakh to Rs.28 lakh for covered parking. Since Delhi is having most of its housing in independent units, car parking on roads and public places are overflowing of the private place owned for such purposes.
