CM will soon announce decision on redevelopment plan for suburban buildings

On Wednesday state Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has clarified that decision on a proposal to offer incentives for the redevelopment of old and dilapidated buildings in Mumbai suburbs and Thane could is likely to be taken soon. While attending the legislative assembly CM said that “he would call the meeting regarding redevelopment proposal and inform the House about the outcome on MLAs from the treasury and the Opposition benches participated in the discussion.
Apart from this legislators has urged to CM to regularize policy for the 5,500-odd illegal structures in Thane as was done in Ulhasnagar, he said that government will clarify this issue on the coming Friday.
The state government has been criticized by the opposition leaders for taking too much time for implementing the recommendations of the Afzalpurkar committee report which dealt with the grant of a higher floor space index (FSI) for dilapidated suburban buildings.
