Deputy CM refuses links with firm to land allotted

Mumbai: On Wednesday Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra has refused the allegations of allotment of government land to the private firm in which he was having stakes.
While speaking with reporters Pawar said that “deliberately I have been targeted due to some political causes.” He added that “I had purchased the 8,800 stakes of A G Mercantile in FY2005 but after very short time I sold the entire shares in the same year and on 16Jan,2006 transaction have approved by the board.”
As per sources accusations against Pawar was that ha has supported to a private for development of land located near to Karjat suburban area of Mumbai-Pune high way. Alongside A G Mercantile won the award for building a dam close to Bhilavli, operate and transfer basis after following the due process of law,’’ Dy CM said.
Pawar said “dam was built in 1974 and after some time it was found that due to leakage dam has been damaged, then state government took decision to make dam stronger. In meeting decision was made that assignment would be given to private firm which would be granted rights to develop as a tourist spot the surrounding area in lieu of the repair work. Then we have issued the tender for assignment and highest bidder was assigned the contract on Nov24, 2011. “In this project nothing is secret each and every document are available. Now company has done with the assignment and now I don’t have any concern with it” Pawar added.
“Pawar still having shares in the company” BJP member Devendra Phadanvis said. As we have checked the records of Ministry of Company Affairs and found that Pawar is still holding stakes. . It is surprising as to how the Centre did not update its website, particularly when the shares were transferred in November 17, 2005,’’ he added.
