Desiccant Rotors International fulfills 100% Energy Recovery & IAQ requirement at CWG 2010

First Indian company providing 100% energy recovery solutions at CWG 2010 indoor stadiums

Mumbai, March 22, 2010: After helping establish Beijing Olympics as the Green sporting extravaganza in the world, Desiccant Rotors International (DRI), the largest manufacturer of energy recovery equipment in India, is all set to make Commonwealth Games, the most environment friendly sporting event in India. As CWG’s Green partner, DRI has installed energy saving equipment in all indoor stadiums, to help maintain Indoor Air Quality. These energy saving equipments would save a total of half mega watt of energy.

DRI has installed Heat Recovery Wheels (HRWs) and Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVi) to recover energy and to improve the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) of all the indoor stadiums. Commenting on their association with Commonwealth Games 2010 Mr. Varun Pahwa, VP, DRI says “It’s a great honor for us to be associated with the first Green Games in India. We have paid attention to the smallest details and meticulously chalked out processes and systems that will save energy to make this mammoth event a unique experience for the spectators. This will be the first sports event in India meeting global standards for environment conservation”. As a result there will be a considerable reduction in installed tonnage, reduction in utility bills for entire life cycle, enhanced IAQ and productivity and reduced health risks. DRI’s equipment will assist in maintaining high indoor air quality for a large number of spectators in the following air conditioned stadiums –

Major Dhyanchand Stadium
Indira Gandhi Stadium(IGI)
Weight Lifting Stadium
IGI Wrestling Stadium
Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool
Yamuna Sports Complex
Siri Fort Stadium
