Development of Waqf Properties

The Government has said that to further strengthen the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and suggest measures to increase the outreach of NMDFC, the proposal for restructuring of NMDFC is currently under study by a Consultant. Giving this information in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, the Minister for Minority Affairs, Shri Salman Khurshid said that the proposed restructuring of NMFDC includes setting up of a National Waqf Development Agency.

Shri Khurshid informed the House that the programme for development of waqf properties, which was under the purview of Central Waqf Council, has not been merged in National Minority Development Finance Corporation.
