Land acquisition for Karnataka Metro Rail on stay.
Land acquisition process for the metro rail in Bangalore in the area of Basavanagudi around V.V. Curve and R.V.Rd.is put on stay by the Karnataka High Court. Justice R.M.Reddy has been observing the matter where in the petitions have been filed by Ms. Malini Sriram and Mr. B.N.Sreekanta Swamy.
Recently, the BMRCL and other authorities had placed before court a compromise deal with regards to a property acquired for the Metro project near South End Circle.
Malini Sriram in her petition has challenged acquisition of 711 square metres which cuts through her property of 13,800 square feet for the construction of what is known as V V Curve. She claims that the property inspite of being a commercial one, the authorities are paying her, as per the rate of the Residential ones. The payment offered is Rs 38,216 per square metre where as it is Rs 48,000 plus for a commercial property and is awarded to the property in her neighbourhood but not to her.
