•Transactions with full disclosure of carpet area
•Happy visitors steaming in, in thousands
•25000 walk-ins in 2 days

MUMBAI, October 8, 2011: The self regulatory code of conduct for developers adopted by the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) is in full force as witnessed at the MCHI Property 2011 – the country’s largest real estate exhibition in progress in Mumbai.
“All transactions and documentation is being done with full disclosure of actual carpet area. We are happy for the enthusiastic and voluntarily adherence to the code of conduct.” said Mr. Paras Gundecha, President of MCHI.
On site explanation of the carpet area as a term of measure along with the erstwhile method of saleable area is on. Its the customers who want to understand the properties by saleable area which is why the participant developers explain accordingly. However the agreements for sale will mention carpet area rates only, Mr. Gundecha explained. “We have taken adequate care to ensure this,” he said. The exhibition evoked an enthusiastic response from the home buyers. The venue registered as many as 25,000 walk-ins during last 2 days. Participant companies have report good sales on site.
As many as 15,000 multi-location properties, backed by clearances are on display at the MCHI Property 2011, which was inaugurated by Minister of State for Housing Mr. Sachin Ahir on the Dussera Festival Day at MMRDA Grounds, BKC. This is the 19th edition of the MCHI Real Estate & Housing Finance Exhibition featuring properties from across Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region with varied sizes and price points. Tomorrow is the last day & the exhibition ends at 8 pm.
The exhibition assumes an added significance in view of the twin facts that MCHI has recently adopted a self regulatory code of conduct for developers and set up a consumer grievance redresser mechanism to ensure customer satisfaction.
An on the spot survey shows that home buyers are happy that they can scan through an array of properties displayed, thus saving them time and effort, which they would otherwise have to spend if they were to check individual properties. Now, they can do so all under one roof and in air-conditioned comfort.
Unbelievable as it may sound, but all aspects related to home buying are assembled under one roof. Properties on display include 1 BHK to 5 BHK flats, Penthouses to second homes along with affordable homes across different price points at the exhibition, also N.A (Non-Agricultural) plots are on display.
MCHI Exhibition Committee Chairman Mr. Bandish Ajmera pointed out this is the best time to buy property as the event offers the best of the opportunities. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the benefit of visitors to Property 2011 like free shuttle bus services from Bandra (E) and Kurla (W) stations and a Kid’s zone centre run by professionals to take care of tiny tots while parents go round the sprawling exhibition. To take care of visitors gourmet needs, the exhibition has a cafeteria offering a sumptuous spread of Lunch, along with Snacks etc.
