Announces consumer redressal cell formation
Mumbai July 30, 2009: Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), the leading body of real estate developers in the country will set up a consumer redressal cell in order to resolve complaints of consumers. This was announced by MCHI president Mr. Pravin Doshi during the felicitation of MCHI’s founder-president Mr. G. L. Raheja, who was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the real estate industry here last evening.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Chavan, Union Power Minister Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde felicitated Mr. G. L. Raheja, doyen of the real estate industry and Chairman, K Raheja Constructions, on behalf of MCHI with a citation and a plaque at an impressive ceremony held at the Trident hotel here last evening. According to Mr. Pravin Doshi, “this is the first time in the history of MCHI that over 700 delegates, from different sectors, have come together for such an event.”
HDFC Chairman Mr. Deepak Parekh, ICICI Bank Managing Director Ms. Chanda Kochhar, Mr. Uday Kotak, Vice Chairman, Kotak Mahindra Bank, government dignitaries, business leaders, bankers, leading real estate developers, architects, engineers, law and finance professionals were present to mark this occasion. 
Speaking on the occasion, Union Power Minister Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde appreciated the key role played by Mr. G. L. Raheja in today’s modern look of the Mumbai city. “He has really changed Mumbai’s skyline, and has pioneered new concepts in land development, said Mr. Shinde.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Chavan in his speech has congratulated the MCHI team for felicitating Mr. G. L. Raheja. Mr. Chavan called Mr. Raheja a ‘Mahaguru’ (Great Teacher) of real estate industry, and said it was Mumbai, and Maharashtra’s good fortune that Mr. G L Raheja moved from Karachi to Mumbai, adding to the growth and development of Mumbai and Maharashtra.
