Metro MMOPL Statement

The temporary scaffolding and the reinforcement cage leaned on to one side at pier 180 at Chakala, Andheri (E), while pier erection work was being carried on. Two of the contractor’s worker sustained minor injuries and were given immediate medical aid. While the road that side was closed for construction purpose, a car parked there was damaged. We will ensure that adequate compensation is given to the car owner.

MMOPL is investigating and the exact cause will be determined soon. However, from the initial investigations it seems to be an error on part of the contractor’s (i.e. Simplex) worker. A team of engineers and contractors workforce was immediately rushed to the site and the fallen material has been removed.
