Mumbai:
The civic body recently has released the orders to go ahead for demolition of two towers with seven-storey located in Mira road. Due to this order residents of those towers are in complete shock as most are still repaying their bank loans for the flats.
The flat owners of Ashirwad Manzil and Ashirwad Prem have got a notice from the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) to vacate the flats as the earliest. The duo towers have been constructed by developer Kanaiyalal Jain of Ravalnath Developers have been built on lands reserved for a community hall and civic school. The Ashirwad Prem built in 2007 whereas Ashirwad manzil came up in 2009.
However, during the construction of buildings municipality had demolished those buildings but developer has obtained a stay order and proceeded with the construction.
The developer did not have Commencement Certificate (CC) to carry out construction work, sources said. Even though, flat buyers arranged home loan and have been living in the flats. When municipality has issued the notice to vacate the flats. Residents moved the Thane court against the notice. The court ruled in favour of the municipality.

as per law, the court is right, however one wonders how the municipal bodies keep quiet at the time of selling the flats and only surface and surprise the flat buyers when they take posession of thier flats. some body has to be formed which should certify whether the building is legal or not. the nexus works wonderfully everywhere including at diva where illegal chawls / buildings keep coming and the municipal authorities missing at the time of booking / selling the said rooms, however after the purchasers take posession, these authorities appear from nowhere. so many flat purchasers have lost thier entire life long earnings and have quietly suffered. why cant these municipal authorities alert the flat purchasers. it seems they are always hand-in-glove with the developers and let the flat purchasers lure in the trap and once they take posession, municipal authorities jump to take quick action. nothing happens to the builders / developers ever.
