MMRDA all set to construct flyovers at Shilphata and Mahape

Mumbai March 25, 2011: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is planning to construct two flyovers to ease out traffic congestion in Navi Mumbai considering the rapid growth and meeting the demand in future.
The flyovers are likely to be built at Shilphata-Mahape Road near State Highway 40 and at Mahape respectively. The approximate cost of the flyovers around Rs 90 crore. Mr Dilip Kawathkar, Joint Project Director (PR), MMRDA said, “Both locations are very important in terms of traffic movement. It is a critical junction connecting Mumbai-Pune old highway. The traffic will further increase by manifolds with the plans of airport and Trans-Harbour Link.”
MMRDA had floated tenders for the works under extended Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project (MUIP).
