MMRDA opens Santacruz-West skywalk

SANTACRUZ-2The 300 meter long arm of the Santacruz-West skywalk is thrown open
The skywalk runs from the railway station to Navratna Hotel on K.K.Road
Mumbai, February 21, 2009 – The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has thrown open another skywalk for public at Santacruz-West, which runs from Santacruz railway station to Navratna Hotel on K.K.Road which joins the S.V. Road.
“The total length of the 25.67-crore Santacruz-West skywalk is 600 meters long with four meters wide walkway. The construction of the remaining 300-meter arm will be completed by March 31, 2010”, said Ms. Ashwini Bhide, Joint Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, after opening the skywalk which is beautifully landscaped.
The MMRDA has, till today, thrown open, fully, four skywalks at Bandra-E, Bandra-E extension up to Bandra Court, Kanjurmarg and Badlapur-W. The Authority has opened 9 more skywalks, partially, at Borivli-W, Ulhasnagar-W, Mira Road-E, Chembur-W, Ghatkopar-W, Vidyavihar-West, Dahisar-E and W, including the Santacruz-West skywalk.
The MMRDA will be constructing in all 51 skywalks in the city of Mumbai and it’s Metropolitan Region.
