Municipal Model Law to be applicable all over India

Government of India has invited objections and suggestion to have uniform law for all the municipal corporations established under various state Acts. The Act will be applicable to entire India.

Lot of discussions are on around the trade and community for having uniform Model Municipal Law. With this, age old Act like Bombay Municipal Act 1888 will be replaced by the new Act. So also to other part of the country.

It is eminent that, after this Act, land records and other development permissions will be uniformed and will be having same procedure for the entire nation.

It is under observation and public opinions are invited through delegation or by personal papers. After the suggestions and objections, centre government will be introducing the Bill in the next session of Parliament.

Under the Act certain development permissions like Commencement Certificate and Plan approval process will be unified. The rational property tax and basis of calculations will also be unified. Total computerization of land records will be on the card.

Although the authorities will be the same, but the law will be applicable according to Model Municipal Law.
