No property registration below collector rate: Punjab Govt

Chandigarh: Recently Punjab government has issued an order to district authorities deterring registration of any property below the notified collector rate.
According to the spokesperson order has been released for the entire district authorities to ensure that no property is registered by the revenue department under the collector rate fixed by the district authorities.
As per sources “this move has taken to control the prudence of revenue authorities in calculating the stamp duty the building portion while registering the property, the Punjab Government has amended the Punjab Stamp (Dealing of under valued instrument) Rule 1983. This amendment will remove all discretion and make the process transparent and convenient to the people.
