Property disputes worth Rs.5L will now be heard by civil judges

The state government has raised the amount range of property related cases that can heard by civil judges (junior division) and district courts in the state. So far, judges from junior division can hear property disputes worth Rs.1L which is now state government has increased by Rs. 5L. Whereas, district judges will hear property complaints worth Rs.10L earlier which was Rs.2L, the state government has passed this order on last Friday.
The property litigation amendment will be applicable from January 16 for all the property related cases whether it is new or old. Advocate Jayant Jaibhave, member of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa from Nashik said that, “approx 50,000 civil disputes are pending at Bombay High Court which will now be shifted to the concern courts.”
Due to this move the litigation those are actually from district-divisions will now be can take a sigh of relief as their time any money will be saved to go to Bombay High court, whereas for appeals up to 10 lakh as now they can heard by the respective district judges only.
