State Government of Haryana all set to development plans in 73 towns
Chandigarh: Government of Haryana is all set to City Development plans (CDPs) to rectify the inadequacy in primary infrastructures such as water supply, drains, roads and sewerage.
Spokesperson of CDPs said that state government has sanctioned Rs. 1695.01cr for urban local bodies during the year 2011-12 which is Rs. 90.78 crore higher than the allocation made for the year 2010-11.
Officer added that Rs.144cr has been released in FY2008-09 and 2009-10. Chief Minister has also sanctioned Rs.1cr for development for every municipal wards those are having population of Scheduled Caste and which is more than the 50 per cent of urban local bodies in couple of years. As per survey reports approx 144 wards have been recognized in state those are having population of SC more than 50per cent.
In year 2011-12 announcement has been made of Rs. 196.17cr for Urban Local Bodies Department under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). And Central Government (Faridabad) has approved under this mission seven detailed projects report (DPRs) amounted Rs.823.33cr.
Apart from this, central government and state goveernment has already issued Rs.162.87 cr and 65.08cr respectively. The CDP for Panchkula town, which was recently included under JNNURM along with Chandigarh and Mohali had been approved by the state government and submitted to central Government.
