State Govt. of maharashtra to rate green quotient for structures

The Environment Department of Maharashtra state shall draft guidelines on the Constituents of a Green Building along with a confederation of Indian Industry.

With a formal announcement on The world Environment Day, June the 5th, the guidelines shall be implemented, said an official from the department.

In order to encourage developers to implement the guidelines, the government has decided upon certain non financial Incentives for those who would opt for the guidelines.

This will add a different value to buildings and structures. People looking for new homes can consider the ‘Green’ factor as one of the prestige issues. A time is fore seen where the buildings shall be evaluated on their green-worthiness.
