Structures on either side of Metro-2 alignment to be surveyed
Condition of all structures along the Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd Metro corridor will be surveyed, photographed and maintained
Mumbai, June 22, 2010 – The Mumbai Metro Transport Private Limited, the concessionaires for Metro-2 corridor, will conduct a survey of all structures along the Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd Metro corridor before commencing the construction. The condition of the structures will be photographed and maintained along with the assessment report. The survey is to avoid frivolous and unnecessary litigations which not only hold the projects back but also accounts for waste of funds.
The survey is divided in five different sections. While M/s. Structwell will conduct survey for the first four sections, the remaining section will be conducted by M/s. Epicon.
“The survey will be conducted on as-is-where-is basis recording minute details as to the condition of the structures including the cracks and their size. These details will be photographed and maintained along with the assessment report”, said Mr.SVR Srinivas, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA. “The study will segregate structures in different categories such as “No-Attention-Required” and “Thorough-Study-Required”. This will help us while we discuss and share our reports with the owners of the structures. The data collected will be very vital so as to enable the project to proceed without any hindrance which could be caused by frivolous and unnecessary litigations”, said Mr.Srinivas further.
