AtulGoel

The Goel Ganga Group has been around for a quarter of a century now. A versatile organization, its arms reach Mumbai as well as Pune, in projects both commercial and residential in nature. In an email interview with the Managing Director of the Group, Mr Atul Goel, we find out more about the Group itself and Pune’s real estate scene:

Accommodation Times: Can you tell us something about your company? Since how long have you been in the business?
Atul Goel: We are an Integrated Management Systems (IMS) for quality, environment, health and safety certified company by TÜV Germany. We are a professionally organized company working in construction industry for last 25 years.

AT: What is unique about the services you provide?
AG: We are customer focused. We maintain our buildings for at least 3 years after possession we give 10 years guarantee for water proofing.

AT: What are your current projects that your organization is involved in?
AG: We have launched 5 projects in the last 6 months alongside our ongoing projects in Bengaluru, Nagpur and Mumbai.

AT: How has the recession and the recent budget affected you? Do you see a turnaround in the real estate sector shortly especially with the budget and the effects of recession a bit watered down?
AG: Let me tell you that recession was never there in India. We had just slowed down for some time as a precaution against changes in the international market scenario. There is no turnaround as such; it is just that there is a sentimental change that affects our market.

AT: What has Pune been like in property rates? Have the property prices fallen drastically and if so do you see a correction in prices?
AG: Pune has been a very stable market. It never saw much increase in prices so the correction was also very minimal and just as appropriate to kick start and motivate the waiting clients to buy.

AT: Do you see Pune taking the load off the pressures faced by the city of Mumbai? If so, how will Pune cope up with the pressures? (The pressure of housing, population, infrastructure, density, roads, water, etc)
AG: Pune is overloaded but the migration is neither from Mumbai nor an offshoot of Mumbai. In fact it is from all over the country because of Pune is one big education centre.
